Documentation
Our documentation team compiles the project documentation from goods receipt through final acceptance. Material certificates and test reports are clearly assigned to the order. This also applies to the other agreed-upon manufacturing records.
References clearly assigned to the project
Materials and components remain traceable throughout the manufacturing process. This also applies to the welding consumables used. For pressure-bearing materials, we provide inspection certificates in accordance with EN 10204 Type 3.1. Final acceptance according to Type 3.2 is possible if a notified body or an independent acceptance inspector is involved.
Welding certificates and non-destructive testing (NDT) reports are assigned to the order. The same applies to pressure test reports. The structure and scope of the data book are based on the applicable regulations and the customer’s specifications. Test plans or individual test reports may also be part of the agreed-upon scope of documentation.
Digital management of project documentation
The documentation team manages the project documents in DocuWare. The digital mapping links materials and weld seams to the respective order. This also allows the corresponding test reports to be made available as needed.
If an independent assessment is required, we involve the notified body or a certified expert. The resulting documents are included in the project documentation.
Contact person for project documentation
If you have any questions about the data sheet or project-specific documentation, please contact our team. We will coordinate the required scope of documentation with you before production begins.
Frequently Asked Questions About Documentation
Here, we answer questions about test certificates and data books. We also explain how traceability is documented in vessel and equipment manufacturing.
In what format will we receive the documentation? + − You will typically receive a structured PDF data book. A printed version can be arranged upon request. The structure and language are determined before production begins. The scope depends on the applicable regulations and customer specifications.

How does traceability work in detail? + − Upon receipt of goods, sheet metal, pipes, and filler metals are assigned a unique identifier linked to the batch and the material certificate. This identification is transferred to the component with every cut. As a result, every component of the finished vessel can be traced back to the melt in DocuWare. This assignment is also available for later repeat inspections or modifications.

What does a WOLF data book contain? + − The data book contains the approved drawings and calculations. It also includes material certificates as well as welding documentation with WPS, WPQR, and welder certificates. The agreed-upon NDT reports and heat treatment records are also included. The document concludes with the pressure test report and the declaration of conformity required by regulations or the ASME Data Report.
